Who's been to a wedding in the Jenolan Caves!!
It was so quiet!! The quietest wedding I have ever conducted! I hardly had to speak and everyone could hear me very clearly.
My 4th Class Teacher happened to be a guest at the wedding which was a blowout and really cool to see him after all these years. Its incredible how much of an impact a teacher can make on you. This particular teacher was the favourite of all the kids, very funny, and ate clinkers all the time!(Its funny what you remember about someone, even 25 years later!!)
Anyway, We were in the Lucas Cave. The trek in was very exciting and 99% humidity and 15.1 degrees.
Some of the stairs are very small and super steep. It was modestly lit along the path we followed to the interior cave where the ceremony was held.
When the lights were turned on, they dimly, yet precisely amplified the beauty. I suddenly realised I was surrounded by eons of formations dripping down towards me. I was in awe of my amazing country yet again.
The Bride arrived and epitomised youth and beauty. She looked truly amazing in her vintage gown. She was serene and stoic. She didnt look nervous, but later she told me she was packing it!
I am blessed to experience such things, in unique places in the capacity of bringing people together with their life partner.
It was a long and little bit of a freaky drive home as dusk emraced the bush. The road is a little dodgy at the best of times, and in the fading light reduced my speed to about 20klm hr at times.
I saw afew bush turkeys, a fox, a wild pig, and a lovely little Eastern Gray Kangaroo.
I loved that wedding.
Go Australia!!!
